| Excellent compilation of music! The Satin Doll Trio out
of Alexandria does a great job on Mercer's music, and knowing that I am a
fan, directed me to this site. I recommended they learn "This Time
the Dream's on Me."

Name: Rudi Polt
I Love Dolly Dawn!
Now I can sing along with the music on my daughter's music box. You will never know how much we both will enjoy the opportunity to sing along. Thanks so much!!
Johnny Mercer is my all time favorite songwriter, et al. I'm wondering why this giant of music Americana has been so overlooked. He needs to be fully recognized. My grandson, SJ, a junior at SIUE here, wants to help do that. He is a deejay at SIUE's radio station, which is the top Jazz Station in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

Nice little web page.
Thanks for your work on this excellent site. I found my way here doing some searching regarding the excellent vocalist, Margaret Whiting.
My "baby boomer" daughter called and asked me for the words to "I remember You" I could remember only the first part of the verse and the end! Thanks to you site I was able to fill in the blanks. Johnny Mercer, one of my favorites! Thanks!!
Lonely man lookin for a little huggin and a chalkin
A very dear friend just passed, his name was George Burton Holler, his mother's name was Elizabeth Mercer from Rochester, NY (I believe). I strongly feel George was related to Johnny Mercer. Elizabeth signed many paintings "Elizabeth Mercer Marsh". Elizabeth married several times. If anyone has any information on this please email me
Steve, I signed the Guestbook a year ago, have visited the site many times since, and continue to enjoy and learn from it. I'm still singing those Johnny Mercer tunes. Love 'em. All the best.---Loretta
LAST WEEKEND, I HAD THE HONOR TO ATTEND DINNER AT MY SON'S BOARDING HIGH SCHOOL, "WOODBERRY FOREST" IN VIRGINIA. AFTERWARDS, THE MEN'S GLEE CLUB WAS INTRODUCED AND SANG "MOON RIVER" AND "THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC" BY JOHNNY MERCER,A MEMBER OF THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1927. WHAT A GREAT MOMENT THAT WAS!! LOOK UP WOODBERRY AT (WWW.WOODBERRY.ORG ).YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW JOHNNY MERCER BELIEVED THAT HE COULD TAKE ON THE WORLD AFTER ATTENDING THIS MARVELOUS SCHOOL. BEST WISHES, BARRY GORDON
Johnny Mercer is the BEST lyricist in the world! I admire the way he had so much fun with his words and yet could also compose the most romantic lyrics ever written. I'm delighted to have found this website!
Does anybody know anything about the "Everett Miller" who wrote the music for "Out of Breath" and co-wrote the words for "Would'ja For A Big Red Apple"? Please contact me if you do. Personally, it's important.
