QUIEREME Y VERAS
In 1954, Johnny Mercer wrote the lyric and Jose Antonio Mendez the music for a tune "Every Now and Then". This became known as Quiereme Y Veras (Want (or love) Me and You Will See). Trying to get the song recorded Johnny wrote a note to Southern Music: . It took 47 years, but thanks to Chris Chandler, Johnny's dream has become a reality.
I mentioned this to Chris, and he obtained the license to record, and as they say the rest is history.
For Educational and Research Use:
"Quiereme Y Veras" I only heard her murmur "Quiereme Y Veras" Then something happened to my heart I felt it start Pounding like the sea
"Quiereme Y Veras" I held her close and answered "Quiereme Y Veras" Not even knowing where it led Or that I'd said "Love me and you'll see"
I'll never understand how, without knowing, I could make the right replies When I held her hand I spoke her language Just as she read my eyes
Needless to remark I never will forget that whisper in the dark It brought another world to me Because you see I loved her and I saw Or as she would say "Quiereme Y Veras"
