The following is a list of recordings that I have in my collection. I am attempting to enhance this list by asking other collectors of Mercer's work to add any recordings that they have, to this listing. As you will see; I have intentionally left out any 78 RPM recordings, as they are not readily available to today's collector. This listing is just of what is typically available to a new fan trying to build a collection.

Any additions are appreciated!

Thanks

The intent of this list is to give some representation as to which CD's (and to a very limited extent - 33 RPM & 45RPM Recordings) that are available to celebrate the life and music of Johnny Mercer. All of the LP's(33's) are out of print and a few of the CD's are now also; so it may take some time to find this all. All recordings are verified; as I have them in my collection. There is also a section devoted to 78RPM recordings, although these are not readily available.

The main intent of this list is to list Johnny Mercer singing his own recordings. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT JOHNNY MERCER WAS A VERY POPULAR SINGER AND HE DID SING THE WORKS OF OTHER ARTISTS.

There is no definitive discography of his works at this point in time and no verifiable source to document all the tunes that he created; published or non-published. (the most valuable source is the three books written by Don Stubblebine regarding published sheet music, from cinema and broadway.)

References are taken from CD liners or LP covers.

There are many, many other recordings by artists not represented in this compilation. This is just a start, for either the beginning collector of his music or the more advanced collector.

Please feel free to make copies and distribute this list. This is just a hobby and I enjoy sharing it with others.
